Your Go-to

Having been born and raised in Sussex, my enthusiasm for exploring the countryside and appreciating the outdoors has remained steadfast. Currently residing in Hampshire, I take great pride in my ability to capture images of local wildlife. My dedication to preserving our environment and its inhabitants is unwavering, as I understand that protecting the delicate balance of our ecosystem is vital.

The Happy Humble Bumble was founded out of deep concern for the environmental and health implications associated with single-use period products, nappies, and incontinence products. Linda, the founder of The Happy Humble Bumble, brings with her a wealth of experience in both child and adult care, providing her with valuable insight into the extensive impact that disposable items have on our planet.

Our mission

Our mission is to champion washable, reusable, guilt-free care products. We are committed to drastically reducing single-use plastics in both our products and our packaging. We rigorously evaluate our practices and partner with responsible suppliers who are equally dedicated to our vision of minimising waste and eliminating harmful chemicals.

Sustainably sourced products

We collaborate with sustainable suppliers to provide affordable, high-quality products that prioritise environmental responsibility while also being safe for you and your baby. Furthermore, we are dedicated to supporting community initiatives that address period poverty, empowering girls to pursue education and live with dignity, free from stigma.

Our sustainability objectives involve a two-phase approach. Phase 1 focuses on minimising landfill waste by offering affordable care products designed for those who are contemplating a transition to reusable options. We also aim to streamline the manufacturing and wholesale distribution processes, thereby reducing the transportation distance of our products.

In Phase 2, we will further decrease our carbon footprint by prioritising collaboration with UK manufacturers and wholesalers, except for our existing partners who are committed to combating period poverty or giving back to the environment.

What a Waste!

In the UK, the disposal of single-use menstrual products contributes significantly to waste, amounting to approximately 200,000 tonnes each year.

Whilst it is estimated that approximately 3 billion disposable nappies and incontinence pads are discarded annually.

Many disposables are produced with a range of chemicals, which may act as irritants, allergens, or potentially harmful agents. Alarmingly, approximately 90% of  single-use sanitary products contain plastic - roughly the equivalent to 4 carrier bags. According to the Life Cycle Initiative, these can take up to 500 years to break down in landfills releasing toxic chemicals.
